Agenor Garcia is a Brazilian pianist and composer whose work bridges contemporary jazz and impressionist music. His performances are entirely spontaneous, created live in conversation with the moment, the space, and the audience.
With a sensitive and abstract approach, his music evokes atmospheres and sonic landscapes, using silence, color, and intuition as core compositional elements. Each performance is unique — a spontaneous reflection of the now.
Agenor Garcia with the drummer/percussionist André Togni are releasing 'LUMINESCENCE', recorded during the summer of 2025 at Togni's recording studio in Brasília- Brazil. It's noticeable the spaces in their music and, when they sound, it matches to emotional images contrasting silence to build a foundation for this wandering atmosphere.

Original soundtrack
A DESCOBERTA DAS "ILHAS BARROS"
The film "Antarctic Exploration in the 21st Century: The Rediscovery of the Barros Islands", supported by Vento Leste and Kouda, tells the story of João Paulo Barbosa, the only Brazilian historian dedicated to Antarctica. Through his commitment and perseverance—marked by 10 expeditions—he explores the history of Antarctic toponymy related to Brazil.
This 10-minute film focuses on the rediscovery of the Barros Islands, named in 1909 but never mentioned in Brazil until 2021. It culminates in the first Brazilian landing on these islands in 2023.
MUSIC
Part of the N'Ice Planet project and presented at the First Brazilian Polar Film Showcase, the film is further enriched by an original soundtrack composed by Agenor Garcia, whose music captures the vastness and mystery of the Antarctic landscape.
Garcia's contemporary background profoundly informs his nuanced perception of touch, tone, and texture. Yet, the recording also attains equilibrium through the spontaneous instincts of a masterful composer.
MEET THE CREATIVE MIND
ORIGINALLY FROM BRAZIL, Agenor Garcia is a multidisciplinary contemporary artist whose work seamlessly bridges music and visual arts.
First and foremost, he is a composer, and his music weaves a vibrant tapestry of innovation and tradition, where classical and modern sensibilities merge into a singular, expressive soundscape. As a composer and pianist, Garcia has carved out a distinct identity within the vast realm of contemporary music, drawing from a deep well of influences that span cultural and spiritual dimensions.
Central to Garcia’s work is an exploration of emotion and transcendence. His compositions often weave intricate melodies that evoke introspection and grandeur, reflecting an innate understanding of music as a vehicle for human expression.
This emotional depth is paired with technical sophistication, as Garcia’s pieces frequently incorporate complex harmonies and dynamic rhythms that challenge traditional norms while remaining accessible to listeners.
“I DON'T WRITE MUSIC, I DRAW IT.”
With a background in architecture, Garcia’s artistic vision extends beyond music. His passion for design and painting led him to develop a conceptual aesthetic that materializes in a striking collection of visual works, from conceptual to abstract, transforming musical ideas into visual expressions that redefine the boundaries between sound and form.
Agenor Garcia’s spontaneous music, woven in the presence of breath and listening hearts, are very much impressionist — not as a genre, but as a gesture. Abstract, yes — but rooted in something vivid, something deeply felt.
Sound and silence, vanishing and eternal.

HIS PASSION FOR DESIGN AND PAINTING LED HIM TO WORK ON AN AESTHETIC THAT BREAKS AWAY FROM TRADITIONAL NOTATION.
The result is a collection of drawings from conceptual to abstract, produced in many media, most commonly INK, soft pastel, and charcoal on paper. Metaphorically, the interplay between a musical composition and its instrumental counterpart mirrors the relationship between a canvas and the strokes it bears.
MUSIC
Garcia's contemporary background profoundly informs his nuanced perception of touch, tone, and texture. Yet, the recording also attains equilibrium through the spontaneous instincts of a masterful composer. This fusion of the performer's physicality with the instrument not only becomes evident but also establishes an intricate ecosystem through which the musical creation inherently interacts.
This dynamic relationship encompasses both complexity and causation, analogous to how the textured surface of a canvas can mold the very essence of the artistic expression.

"PULSE" (THE UNIVERSAL RHYTHM).
FOR Agenor, the word RHYTHM is mentioned a lot but most of the time not explained, as Bernstein says; as "Preordained Universal". Learn how to open your mind—and ears—to the real story. Whatever your skill level, you will find helpful advice and guidance on your musical journey.
AESTHETIC
