LUMINESCENCE
AGENOR GARCIA + ANDRÉ TOGNI
Their live performances are particularly noteworthy, as they capture the raw energy and spontaneity that define their creative connection.
Each concert becomes a journey, with Garcia and Togni seamlessly shifting between moments of intense virtuosity and quiet introspection. Their intuitive communication on stage—evident in their timing, phrasing, and shared sense of musical space—speaks to a profound artistic bond.
What makes this project truly special is its spontaneity.
The entire concert was recorded in a single take, with every note born in the moment—a raw, unfiltered dialogue between piano and percussion.
It embodies a shared spirit of improvisation and connection, deeply aligned with the artistry the artists admire in ECM's legacy.

CINQUENTA
AGENOR GARCIA + ANDRÉ TOGNI
The collaboration between Agenor Garcia and drummer/percussionist Andre Togni is a remarkable fusion of rhythmic precision and melodic depth, showcasing the transformative power of musical synergy.
Together, they weave a dialogue that transcends genres, blending their respective talents into performances and compositions that are as dynamic as they are emotive.
One of the defining aspects of their work together is their ability to explore and embrace diverse musical traditions. Togni’s extensive knowledge of global percussion styles, from Brazilian samba to experimental and contemporary approaches, complements Garcia’s compositions

FRAGMENTS OF LIGHT
THE SOUNDTRACK WORKS OF AGENOR GARCIA
"MUSIC REMEMBERS WHAT IMAGES FORGET"
A soundtrack album often reveals a different side of a composer's voice—the ability to serve a story while preserving a distinct artistic identity. This release sounds like a meaningful milestone in the artist journey as a composer.
Fragments of Light is one of those titles that feels natural immediately and gains depth the more one reflects on it. It carries a cinematic resonance while remaining open enough for listeners to bring their own imagination to the music.

WATERCOLOR
IN A FIGURATIVE SENSE, THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN A MUSICAL COMPOSITION AND A MUSICAL INSTRUMENT COULD BE LIKENED TO THAT OF A CANVAS AND ANY MARKS IT BEARS.
Garcia's contemporary background informs his sensitivity to touch, tone, and texture. However, the recording is also balanced with the in-the-moment instincts of a great composer.
The relationship between the body of the performer and the instrument is noticeable and defines an ecology with which the musical work necessarily interacts.
This relationship is multifaceted and causal as the textured surface of a canvas can affect the nature of the art expressed.

KEYS & WIND
AGENOR GARCIA INTRODUCES THE OUTSTANDING SAXOPHONIST
PACO REINALDET WITH MUSIC OF FLOWING LYRICISM AND TEXTURE.
They say that silence serves to provoke emotions more than anything else.
Using "silence" as an aesthetic language, lengthening the tempo of a single note, or using rhythmic patterns as the main theme, while melody and harmony adorn them... this is the core of this new album named "KEYS & WIND."
The album is in the "contemporary jazz" mood and the duo creates an atmosphere where the audience can almost see the mood.
The repertoire is made up of eight unpublished pieces by the duo and one jazz standard, "Stella By Starlight."
Paco Reinaldet was born in Campo Grande, lived for a while in Brasilia, and moved to São Paulo where he studied music and worked as a gigging musician, playing from blues-jazz to the erudite, as a way of survival.
At that time, he was immersed in São Paulo's bohemian music scene, participating in several music projects. In 2000 he went to Rio de Janeiro in an attempt to start an authorial musical career. Being unsuccessful, he persisted in his choice of music by going to live in Lima-Peru and learning Latin music. Years later, he went to Wales-UK to study and play.

LILT
ALTHOUGH IN HIS EARLY
DAYS HE USED SOME STANDARDS AS A VEHICLE TO EXPRESS HIS MUSICALITY, AGENOR GARCIA IS NOW KNOWN FOR HIS OFTEN
AVANT-GARDE ORIGINAL COMPOSITIONS.
His intense atonal approach generally emphasized dense clusters of sound played with remarkable technique.
The album is characterized by its powerful narrative, reflecting the artist's emotions, and showcasing a range of moods and feelings, from melancholy to euphoria, providing an insightful glimpse into the artist's journey.
It is noticed the construction of a consistent language, both in the compositions and the performance, especially when one watches the videos.
LILT was recorded at GDR studios in the winter of 2019, and produced by Glen Kolotkin.
During the recording sections, some of the tracks were filmed by filmmaker Renato Lombardi. The tracks "Lilt" and "Shiver", were shot as an uncut sequence, giving the audience an upscale artistic experience.
The beautiful album cover, designed by the artist Andrey Hermuche, shows a little of the artist's life in Brasilia (Brazil), reminiscent of the apartment building where he lived for a while.
The album was produced by Glen Kolotkin, a Grammy-awarded producer, and has over 20 gold and platinum albums to his credit (Glenn Gould, Miles Davis, Barbra Streisand, among others).-Read more at www.glenkolotkin.com
THE ALBUM WAS RECORDED LIVE AT CTJ HALL - BRAZIL
Agenor Garcia's beautiful piano performance can be noticed by the listening, but also when watching the video, so well done by the filmmaker Teo Pini, Garcia's son.
"It was a pleasure, after many years, to be back in my town and have the opportunity to perform in a so beautiful theatre for such a wonderful audience."
The album title "AVIV" was inspired by the story behind its meaning; "Aviv" in modern Hebrew accordingly means "Spring", one of the four seasons. Thus the major modern Israeli city of Tel Aviv means "Spring Hill".
"Aviv" is also the month in the Hebrew calendar when the barley has reached or passed this stage (Exodus 13:4; 23:15) is called Aviv, or the "month of the Aviv".

SOMETHING ELSE
AGENOR GARCIA + ANDRÉ TOGNI
AFTER SEVEN YEARS WITHOUT SEEING EACH OTHER, THE TWO FRIENDS REUNITE TO TRY SPONTANEOUS IDEAS RECORDED IN
ONE-TAKE MODE.
"Something Else" was recorded "while creating" in the summer of 2007, at Andre Togni's studios and released years later. "It was an experience of "creation in real-time", recorded "spontaneously" without rehearsal or editing."
The single "WAVE" (Tom Jobim) is a sample of what the album is about; there are "spaces" and long rests, where silence serves to accomplish emotions rather than anything else. "Silence also expresses emotions, and can be a way to relay a message", says Garcia.

SIMBIOSIS
AGENOR GARCIA IS A NATURE LOVER.
SYMBIOSIS IS A RESULT OF
MANY IMMERSIONS IN NATURE.
Agenor Garcia was born in a small state in the countryside of Brazil. He is a man of simple habits, a nature lover, and as he says, "a lover of the simple organic life".
Produced by Glen Kolotkin, and recorded in the summer of 2014, this "debuting as a soloist" album is at the least provocative; at best - as in his performances it presents a compelling musical vision.
He seemed to grow out of no particular musical tradition. He stressed that his musical goal was to rethink his repertory in a radically different fashion.
Though he had a career of five years as a jazz artist, he doesn't like labeling his music, or if needed, prefers contemporary music or contemporary jazz.

BEAU PAYSAGE
PRESENCE IN THE JAPANESE ALBUM COMPILATION
Agenor Garcia - Japan 2016
シャルドネを外へと連れ出そう。風を感じるコンピレーション・アルバム『ボーペイサージュ・シャルドネ2016』。
"BEAU PAYSAGE" makes wine with a delicate and
delicious taste that captures the expression of the land as it is while facing nature with Yamanashi's Tsukin.
A booklet has been released that edits music inspired by Chardonnay made by the winery, the "Butterfly Project" undertaken by "BEAU PAYSAGE", and essays on wine. In the sense of expressing impressions in words, enjoying wine, and listening to music are highly compatible acts.
This is a piece that provides a crossover experience of taste and hearing that I would like people who are familiar with either one to pick up. The recorded songs are around the light and stylish jazz around the world recorded around the 2000s.
Age Garcia's "Presence" is the 10th track on the Japanese compilation album; "Beau Paysage Chardonnay".

BAR BUENOS AIRES
JAPAN 2012
バー・ブエノス・アイレス − 風、光、水
Agenor Garcia's tune "Little Bells For Jane" appears on the Japanese compilation album "Bar Buenos Aires - Viento, Luz, Agua".
From the opening song by Age Garcia, a refreshing breeze blows as it is, the delicate instrumental sound gleams like light, and the song is transparent like water and alive with vitality.
The songs recorded are the classics and masterpieces that have become classics through events such as "Bar Buenos Aires", which sparked "quiet music" and the movement's driving force.
Wonderful artists who produce beautiful and vibrant soundscapes that are quiet and calming. This time, with "Wind, Light, Water" as the subtitle/concept of music selection, we have woven natural music from various countries from Argentina to Brazil, Italy, Norway, Sweden, etc.
In 2012 the Japanese record company, Impairment Inc., released this compilation album featuring Age Garcia among other renowned artists such as Eddie Gomez, and Cesarius Alvim.
